Mary Martha Society
The Mary Martha Society’s mission statement is to serve God and our fellow man. The group meets every third Monday of each month with the exception of July & August. The agenda consists of prayer, a brief Bible Study and a business meeting followed by fellowship and refreshments. A speaker is invited every second month.
The MMS’s church activities at Peace include:
- Receptions for weddings, anniversaries, funerals, musical functions
- Sending greetings cards to those who are ill or any special occasions
- Gifts to confirmands
- Gifts to children who attend the Christmas Eve Service
The MMS’s fundraising efforts over the years have included:
- Fashion shows
- Spring teas
- Garage sales
- Entertainment
- Selling bulbs
- Bake sales
The MMS’s mission donations to other countries have included:
- African Grandmothers
- Harvest Hands Uganda Africa Project
- Operation Eyesight
- Kapassani Project

Occasion, the group contributes to Peace if there is a particular need in:
- Flooring for the fellowship hall
- Piano fund
- Kitchen supplies
- Carpet in narthex
Our (2014) summer project involved the make up of “Hygiene Kits”. These gifts of love will be received by those displaced by war, famine and natural disaster, and are vital to the operation of hospitals, schools, refugee camps and development programs administered by the Canadian Lutheran World Relief charity program.
